MHAM Week 3: Wear Green Week

Each May, we dedicate a day to Wearing Green to raise awareness for Mental Health. Green is worn as a visible way to combat bias and discrimination.

According to the National Federation of Families, the color green was used to label individuals as "insane" or mentally ill. However, with time meaning has changed and now it is used in support of mental health awareness. Green signifies new life, new growth, and new beginnings. Therefore, we wear green ribbons to raise public awareness. Join us on Thursday, May 16th on Wear Green day and encourage your organization, friends and family to do the same. Send us a picture by tagging us on social media and use the #makeitokiowa.
