    When you use your SNAP/EBT card to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables, you are eligible to sign up for Double Up Food Bucks. At checkout, ask about Double Up Food Bucks and sign up with a phone number and zip code. You will earn on your first sign up and receive your card for future purchases.

    Can I sign up with Double Up Food Bucks at self-checkout?

    No. To sign up with Double Up Food Bucks you need to purchase produce with your SNAP EBT card with a cashier.

    What can I purchase with my Double Up Food Bucks?

    You can purchase fresh fruits, vegetables, and seeds or plants that grow fresh fruits and veggies.

    Purchases cannot be made for fruits or veggies with added salt, sugar, or other additives. 

    Packaged fruits and veggies without added salt, sugar or additives can be purchased.

    How can I sign up for Double Up Food Bucks at the farmers market?

    At participating Farmer’s Markets, you can visit the Farmer’s Market information booth or market office to sign up with Double Up Food Bucks. You will receive Double Up Food Bucks paper bucks as tokens to spend at any SNAP-eligible farmer stand. Double Up Food Bucks can only be spent on any SNAP-eligible item at the Farmers Market.

    Is there a limit to the amount of Double Up Food Bucks I can earn and spend in a day?

    Yes, you can earn up to $10 a day Double Up Food Bucks.

    Do my Double Up Food Bucks earnings expire?

    Double Up Food Bucks can be spent on any fresh fruits and vegetables at a participating grocery store. All Double Up Food Bucks currency earned on the card, expires every 90 days. Double Up Food Bucks expire March 31st, June 30th, September 30th, and December 31st.

    How does Double Up Food Bucks work?

    Double Up matches SNAP/EBT dollars spent on fruits and vegetables, up to $10 a day. That means families can get twice the fresh fruits and veggies.

    Who qualifies for Double Up?

    Anyone receiving SNAP benefits is automatically eligible for the program. If you have a SNAP/EBT Card, you are eligible for Double Up Food Bucks.

    Can I use my SNAP/EBT card to load Double Up Food Bucks?

    No. Use your SNAP/EBT card to purchase fruits and vegetables which allows you to earn and spend Double Up Food Bucks at participating locations.

    Where can I use Double Up Food Bucks?

    Statewide, more than 50 grocery stores, farmers markets, farm stands participate in Double Up. Find a location to find a participating site near you.

    Can I earn and spend my double up food bucks in one transaction?

    Yes and no. You are NOT eligible to earn Double Up Food Bucks if you spend $10 of Double Up Food Bucks on a $10 transaction.

    If you spend $10 of Double Up Food Bucks on a $20 transaction, you can earn $10 of Double Up Food Bucks and pay $10 in Double Up Food Bucks.

    What can you buy with Double Up Food Bucks?

    Double Up Food Bucks can only be used for SNAP/EBT purchases of fresh fruits and vegetables at participating locations. Visit DoubleUpIowa.org to find a participating location.

    How does Double Up work in Iowa?

    You must have SNAP/EBT to be eligible to register for Double Up Food Bucks Iowa. Visit a participating location to sign up for the Double Up Food Bucks card.

    At participating grocery stores in Iowa, any purchase of fresh fruits and/or vegetables with your SNAP/EBT Card earns you Double Up Food Bucks to buy additional fresh fruits and vegetables.

    At any participating Iowa Farmers Markets, any SNAP-eligible purchase with your SNAP/EBT card earns you Double Up Food Bucks to buy fresh fruits and vegetables.

    Is there a difference between the Double Up Food Bucks paper bucks and card?

    Yes. At the Farmer’s Market, Double Up Food Bucks paper bucks are used as tokens. Paper bucks will continue to be used at participating Farmer’s Markets only. Visit the Farmer’s Market information booth to learn how you can earn and spend with Double Up Food Bucks.

    At grocery stores and farmer stands, the Double Up Food Bucks card allows you to earn, spend, and save your Double Up Food Bucks for future purchases of fruits and vegetables.

    Double Up Food Bucks paper bucks are non-transferable or non-refundable at grocery stores (Hy-Vee and Fareway) and Co-Ops.

    All Double Up Food Bucks currency earned on the card, expires every 90 days. Double Up Food Bucks expire March 31st, June 30th, September 30th, and December 31st.

    What if there are no participating Double Up sites in my area?

    You can recommend a location to us to tell us where you want Double Up to take root in your area.

    Does Double Up Food Bucks match Women, Infants, and Children (WIC)?

    No, Double Up does not match WIC purchases.

    What if I need immediate food help?

    Visit 211iowa.org, Call 2-1-1, or text your zip code to 898211 to get immediate support finding emergency food programs, food pantries, community meals, and more.

    What if I'm not in Iowa?

    Double Up is available in many states and is growing every day. Visit Double Up America to learn more.

    What is the Double Up MyFresh Wallet app?

    Double Up MyFresh Wallet app is not available for use.

    How can I check my Double Up balance?

    When you shop with a Double Up Food Bucks card, you can visit a participating location and ask the cashier to check your balance.

    Can I use my Double Up Food Bucks card to earn and spend at self-checkout?

    No. You can only earn and spend your double up food bucks at cashier checkout only.

    Do I register my Double Up Food Bucks card online?

    Yes, you can register your Double Up Foods Buck card at mydoubleup.com. Once you complete registration, check your email (including your junk box) for a link to activate your account. If you do not activate your account you will not be able to log in. You can use mydoubleup.com to check your Double Up card balance.

    Do Whole Foods, Fresh Thyme or Walmart accept Double Up Food Bucks?

    Whole Foods, Fresh Thyme and Walmart do not participate in the Double Up Food Bucks Iowa program. We work with Iowa-based grocery stores and farmers markets, with more than 50 participating locations across Iowa. 

  • How does Double Up Food Bucks work at farmers markets?

    At participating Farmer’s Markets, you can visit the Farmer’s Market information booth or market office to sign up with Double Up Food Bucks. You will receive Double Up Food Bucks paper bucks as tokens to spend at any SNAP-eligible farmer stand. Double Up Food Bucks can only be spent on any SNAP-eligible item at the Farmers Market.

    For every $1 spent with your SNAP/EBT at participating farmers markets, you receive up to $10 per day of Double Up Food Bucks for fresh fruit and/or vegetable purchases.

    Bring any unused Double Up Food Bucks paper bucks to be loaded on your Double Up Food Bucks card. Save your card for future purchases of fresh fruits and vegetables.

    Is there a minimum amount I must spend using Double Up Food Bucks?

    Yes, the Double Up Food Bucks must be used in increments of $1. No change is given.

    Is there a limit on how much I can spend from my SNAP/EBT Card at a farmers market?

    Double Up Food Bucks only matches purchases up to $10 per day. For example, if you use your SNAP/EBT to purchase $10 on SNAP-eligible items at the market, you will receive $10 in Double Up Food Bucks.

    All Double Up Food Bucks currency earned on the card, expires every 90 days.  Double Up Food Bucks expire March 31st, June 30th, September 30th, and December 31st.

    How do I know which vendors accept Double Up Food Bucks at the market?

    We have over 25 participating farmers markets accept Double Up Food Bucks across Iowa. Look for Double Up Food Bucks signs displayed at market stalls or ask vendors before making a purchase.

    How do I get Double Up Food Bucks paper bucks tokens?

    Visit the market office or information booth at a participating Farmers Market. When you receive your SNAP tokens, they will match them with Double Up Food Bucks paper/tokens.

    Do the Double Up Food Bucks paper currency/tokens expire?

    Double Up Food Bucks paper bucks tokens expire December 31st. You can use your paper bucks through the market season. Load any unused paper bucks tokens onto your Double Up Food Bucks card to use at other participating sites.

    Currency on the Double Up Food Bucks card, expires every 90 days.  Double Up Food Bucks expire March 31st, June 30th, September 30th, and December 31st.

    Can I return my Double Up Food Bucks paper currency/tokens?

    Yes, you can return paper bucks tokens, but you must have equal value in SNAP/EBT tokens. For instance, to return $10 of Double Up Food Bucks tokens, you must have $10 of wood SNAP/EBT tokens.

    Can I use the Double Up Food Bucks paper bucks tokens at locations other than farmers markets?

    No, Double Up Food Bucks paper bucks/tokens can not be redeemed at other participating locations. You must return to the information booth to load the remaining paper bucks/tokens to your Double Up Food Bucks to be used at any other participating farmers market or grocer.

  • How does Double Up Food Bucks work at Farm Stands?

    At participating farm stands, you can sign up with Double Up Food Bucks during your SNAP purchase.

    For every $1 spent with your SNAP/EBT at participating farmers markets, you receive up to $10 per day of Double Up Food Bucks for fresh fruit and/or vegetable purchases.

    With the Double Up Food Bucks card you can earn, redeem, and save your bucks to use for later purchases of fresh fruits and vegetables at any participating site.

    Sign-up with Double Up Food Bucks with a participating farm stand with your SNAP-EBT and zip code.

    How does Double Up Food Bucks work at CSA?

    At participating CSA, you can sign up with Double Up Food Bucks when you subscribe to your share. During your first week payment with SNAP-EBT you’ll earn up to $30 to pay for the next week share payment. You will earn bi-weekly and redeem bi-weekly. Double Up Food Bucks matches up to $60 per month for your share.

    SNAP and Double Up Food Bucks does not cover membership fees.

    What can I buy at farmer stands and CSA with Double Up Food Bucks?
