HSI Monthly Momentum - March 2025
The Iowa Healthiest State Initiative’s programs and events strive to create awareness and provide solutions to improve the physical, social and mental well-being of Iowans. Every month through Monthly Momentum, we’ll share what our team did through our four main programs Make It OK, Double Up Food Bucks, Produce Rx, and 5-2-1-0 Healthy Choices Count! the month prior to realize that mission! There are tons of ways to get involved whether your passion is mental, social, or physical health, so join us in ensuring every Iowan can live their healthiest life, and don’t forget to subscribe to our newsletter and follow us on social media so you never miss a thing!
5-2-1-0 Healthy Choices Count!
Our 5-2-1-0 partners at Iowa State Extension and Outreach brought the 5-2-1-0 Healthy Choices Count message to multiple schools in North East Iowa in March. St. Josephs Catholic School in New Hampton, Trinity Catholic in Protivin and Charles City Middle School all hosted free assemblies put on by ISU Extension as part of 5-2-1-0. All schools in Iowa can register as a 5-2-1-0 site for free to get access to tons of awesome resources including free assemblies and blender bike lessons from ISU Extension!
Make It OK
The Mental Health Awareness Month 2025 Toolkit launched in March! Individuals and workplaces can get involved during May by checking out the Mental Health Awareness Month page, and by downloading the toolkit. We have social media graphics, posters, resources, events, and SO much more to help you spread the word and celebrate in your school, workplace, community, and online! Together we can Make It OK in Iowa and reduce mental illness stigma.
Make It OK also hosted the first Ambassador roundtable for the quarter and got to connect with Make It OK Ambassadors on their campaigns shared Make It OK updates.

Produce Prescription Program
Catie stopped by Research in the Capitol, an annual event featuring student research at Iowa's Regent Universities, to support our friend, Grace Wood from ISU. She has been an instrumental Produce Rx partner, and was selected to present her research on the educational piece of the Iowa Produce Prescription Program. Research posters are displayed to legislators, reporters, and university administrators. You may even recognize Grace from our new 5-2-1-0 video series!
