Double Up Food Bucks Expands to Eleven New Fareway Locations
The Iowa Healthiest State Initiative’s Double Up Food Bucks program has expanded its partnership with Fareway by adding eleven stores in communities across Iowa as participating locations.
The eleven new sites include two locations in Cedar Rapids, as well as Clinton, Council Bluffs, Fort Madison, Hampton, Muscatine, Newton, Red Oak, Toledo, and Vinton. Across these locations, approximately 18,628 Iowans will now have increased access to fresh produce in their community through Double Up Food Bucks.

2024 Healthiest State Annual Award Winners Announced
The Iowa Healthiest State Initiative has announced the winners of the 2024 Healthiest State Workplace, Individual, and Youth Power Awards. The winners were recognized for their efforts to improve the physical, social, and mental well-being of their employees and community during an in-person award ceremony on Wednesday, April 17th during the Workplace Wellbeing Conference. Lt. Governor Adam Gregg was in attendance to honor the winners and finalists’ work in their communities.

Give Back Iowa Challenge Registration Is Now Open
Volunteer Iowa announced the launch of the 10th annual Give Back Iowa Challenge, an eight-week challenge from April 1 - May 31, 2024, aimed at engaging Iowans in employer supported volunteering. Alliant Energy and the Iowa Healthiest State Initiative have returned this year as partners to support the challenge. Iowa employers are encouraged to pre-register by March 31st but can elect to participate at any time during the Challenge.
